Standards Committee
The aim of the Standards Committee is to promote and ensure
high standards of conduct by Councillors and independent and
co-opted members.The
Standards Committee is made up of four independent
members and eight Councillors. The Chairman and Vice Chairman
of the Committee are Independent Members.
The Standards Committee considers any complaint that a
member may have breached the Members Code of Conduct. The
framework for this is overseen by the Standards for
England.The Committee also gives the Council advice on adopting
the local code of conduct, monitoring the code and promoting the
high standards set out in the code.
Complaining about a Councillor
Any person can make a complaint if they believe that a
Councillor, co-opted or independent member has breached the Code of
Conduct. If you wish to complain about the conduct of a Member of
the London Borough of Redbridge you must submit a complaint to:

The Standards Committee can only deal with complaints about the
behaviour of a Member. It will not deal with complaints about
things that are not covered by the Members' Code of Conduct.
