Meeting residents
Councillor Prince has dealt with
a range of issues and concerns raised by local residents.
One resident, who met Councillor Prince when he was in The Mall
this year, was extremely pleased she took the time to go and speak
to him.
Doris Collier, 80, from Wanstead had just received a huge bill
for some repairs on her privately-owned flat and was having
problems finding the money.
Doris said, "When the company told me how much the repairs to my
flat would cost I felt quite desperate.
"I saw Councillor Prince in Ilford and noticed that he was
inviting opinions from local people so I thought here's an
opportunity to see if anyone from the Council could help with my
predicament."
She added, "He took an interest in what I was saying, took my
details and I got a letter a few days later. Someone then came and
visited my home and filled out some forms for me to help me claim
some benefits to help pay for the repairs.
It was dealt with so quickly and I'm now waiting to hear if I
get some money. I just felt like at least someone was listening to
me and trying on my behalf. I would, without question, tell anyone
who has a problem to go and speak Councillor Prince as you never
know what help you might get.
