You once again have a chance to nominate local individuals
or groups who selflessly give their time to help others when
the Council holds the Mayor’s Annual Awards for the second year
running.
The Mayor’s Annual Awards was launched last year and proved so
successful with hundreds of nominations that this year‘s Mayor,
Councillor Muhammed Javed, has decided to host them once more.
In keeping with the Mayor’s theme for the year, the awards are
entitled ‘The Mayor’s Annual Awards – Giving time for Others’ and
recognise local worthy individuals or groups who carry out
exceptional work in the Borough voluntarily and in their own time.
They will be held at Redbridge Town Hall on Saturday 26 January
2013.
Councillor Javed, Mayor of Redbridge, said, “We all have busy
lives trying to balance a number of commitments but you don’t need
a lot of time to help other people, just an hour a week is enough
to make a big difference to people’s lives. This is the message I
want to get across during my year as Mayor.
“The awards are a fantastic way to celebrate and congratulate
all those people who have worked tirelessly and selflessly for
others whether it be through their business, in their personal
lives helping friends or family or by dedicating time to complete
strangers. I have come across so many worthy individuals and
organisations who give time for others and I hope that people come
forward and nominate those who are a real credit to this
Borough.”
