Mayoral Engagements
If you would like the Mayor to attend an event you can:
- send in requests for attendance to the Mayor's Office
at Redbridge Town Hall giving as much notice as possible;
preferably at least 3 to 4 weeks.
- where possible we ask that you telephone to check whether
the Mayor is available before formally requesting the Mayor's
attendance
- when your request is received in the Mayor's office, we will
confirm the Mayor's acceptance in writing and send you an
engagement form. Please complete it and return it to the Mayor's
officers at least seven days before the date of your
engagement/event.
- Should the Mayor not be available then your invitation will be
passed to the Deputy Mayor; unless you have indicated you do not
wish this to happen.
Please provide briefing information to ensure that the Mayor is
fully informed about your event. This will include:
- what your event is in aid of
- who will be there
- time of arrival
- who will greet the Mayor
- are refreshments provided
What kind of events can I invite the Mayor to?
- opening of fetes/fairs
- events at schools/hospitals/care centres
- other community based events.
How do I address the Mayor?
The correct title of the Mayor is: The Worshipful The Mayor of
Redbridge
The correct forms of verbal address are:

Mr Mayor is the correct form of address,
however female Mayors may elect to be addressed as Madam
Mayor.
