The Council has faced large budget
cuts and has maintained its focus on providing high quality
services and has developed plans to become more efficient and
streamlined without compromising service standards. The Council
delivered savings of £20.3 million in 2011/12 and has planned
savings of £9.8 million in 2012/13 and a further £8.7 million over
the following two years.
To meet ongoing budget pressures we will maintain our focus on
maximising efficiency and effectiveness. This involves looking
at our assets to seek opportunities for more efficiency, improving
transparency about our performance and spend and making our
services more accessible.
We aim to ensure that the Council provides efficient, effective
and value for money services.
In the last two years we have:

office services, including ‘invest to save’ options to maximise the
Council’s income allowing extra investment in frontline Adult
Social Services and Children’s Services
