Home Publication Scheme

PublicationsThere is one approved model publication scheme, provided by the Information Commissioner's Office  (ICO) which must be adopted by all public authorities in its entirety and cannot be altered.

Our publication scheme has been developed to fit this model, in line with the guidance issued by the ICO.  It is web based and commits the Council to make information available to the public as part of its normal business activities.

To make it easier for you to find the information you are looking for, we developed a user friendly software tool we have called DataShare. This is already being used on the website to access our datasets of information such as expenditure over £500.

Our publications have now been added to DataShare, and you will be able to sort them by category, title or by date published.

The categories are:

Here is organisation information, council office locations and contacts and details of our constitution.

Here is financial information relating to income and expenditure, tendering and contracts.

Here is strategic and performance information, including plans, inspections and reviews.

Here are meeting timetables, minutes of meetings and information on consultation.

Here are current policies and procedures for delivering our functions and responsibilities.

Here are lists relating to functions of the Council and registers required by law.

Here is advice and guidance, booklets and leaflets.

Excluded Information

For convenience we may provide access to selected documents of this type through the Publication Scheme, even if they include material which is not within the scope of the FOI Act.

When we choose to include this type of information in our Publication Scheme it should not be taken to mean that it is within the scope of the Act.

The classes of information will not generally include:

  • Information the disclosure of which is prevented by law, or exempt under the Freedom of Information Act, or is otherwise properly considered to be protected from disclosure
