Home Planning application fees

Different planning applications have different fees. The list of fees are shown below:

Householder applications:

Type of Development Fee Payable
Single Dwelling; eg; Side Extension £150
Minor amendments to an existing permission £25
Extend an existing permission (beyond 3 years) £50
Most domestic works eg; gates, fences, garages, conservatories etc. £150
Car park, road and access to serve single undertaking £170

New dwellings:

Type of Development Fee Payable Maximum
Full application per dwelling (up to 50 dwellings) £335 £16,565
Additional fee payable per dwelling over 50 £100 £250,000

For example: A Full Application of 60 dwellings = £16,565 for the first 50 dwellings + £1000 for the additional 10 dwellings Total = £17,565

Outline applications:

Type of Development Fee Payable
All Types - Per 0.1 hectare (up to 2.5 hectares) £335
Additional fee payable per 0.1 hectare over 2.5 hectares £100

For example:  An Outline Application for a site area of 2.6 hectares = £8,285 for the first 2.5 hectares + £100 for the additional 0.1 hectare Total = £8,385

*Excluding use of land for the disposal of refuse of the storage of minerals in the open.

For example: A conversion of a dwelling to 3 flats = £670 for the additional 2 dwellings (£335 x 2)
A conversion of a factory to 40 dwellings = £335 for each dwelling to be created = £13,400

Buildings (other than dwellings or plant & agricultural buildings)

Floor area between 40 sq m and 75 sq m £335
Floor area between 75 sq m and 3,750 sq m £335 (per 75m2) upto £16,565
