Changes to Street Cleansing Arrangements with
effect from 1 April 2011
As a result of the requirement by the
Authority to save £25m over the next three years, there have been
changes to the street cleansing service provision.
From the 1st April 2011, all
residential streets cleaned by teams will now be serviced every 10
working days as opposed to the previous arrangements of 5 working
days. These arrangements do not include weekends or public
holidays. The current arrangements for town centre early morning
and late evening cleansing will remain in place.
Roads currently served by a street orderly will
remain unaffected by these changes.
Local shops in residential areas will now be
serviced three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and
Friday) instead of Monday to Friday as previously.
