Weekly garden waste collection

Your garden waste will be collected the working day after your normal collection day. Find out your normal collection day. Please use your reusable green bag to present garden waste. If you have extra garden waste please leave it in open bags. Please ensure your garden waste is put within your property boundary where it can be seen from the street, before 7am on your day of collection.

Missed collections and alternative ways of disposing

If your garden waste is missed, please present it for collection the following week, before 7am on your collection day. If you are experiencing regular problems with a missed collection please call the Customer Contact Centre on 0208 554 5000. Please note, we are unable to return to missed properties before their next collection day.

We rarely miss collections, but if we do you can take it to the Reuse and recycling centre (The tip). You could also try composting, there is a special rate for Redbridge residents for a compost bin.

Getting a green bag

If you do not have a green bag or require an additional one please visit the One Stop Shop, Lynton House, 255-259 High Road, Ilford, Essex, IG1 1NN. You will be asked to show proof of address, such as a driving license or utility bill, and there is a limit of one bag per customer, while stocks last.

Preparing your garden waste for collection

List of garden waste that we can and cannot collect
Make sure you get your bag back safely by marking your house number on it and provide a stone nearby for your empty sack to be replaced under.
Please place your green bag inside the boundary of your property nearest the street by 7am, and ensure it is in full view from the road.
