Home Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ)

What is a Controlled Parking Zone?

Controlled Parking Zones ( CPZ s) are areas where on-street parking is controlled during specified times.  Redbridge has a number of CPZ s and the days and hours of control and the restrictions in use differ between the zones.

Signs at the entry roads to the CPZ state the hours during which the controls and yellow line restrictions are operational.  If the times in an individual bay are different, the times will be shown on the sign by the bay.

Bank holidays

Please take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions page for using Controlled Parking Zones over the Christmas and bank holidays period.

Types of restriction that may be found in a CPZ

All day waiting restrictions (Yellow lines)

  • Single and double yellow lines will operate in all Controlled Parking Zones
  • For single yellow lines please check the nearest time plate or zone entrance signs
  • Double yellow lines are enforceable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

One-hour commuter parking zone

These zones have single yellow lines that operate between the hours specified in each zone.  What this means is for example, if you parked on a single yellow line which is restricted as per its sign (time plate) you could get a parking ticket.
