Car Club
Car clubs give people access to a vehicle on a pay-as-you-go
basis. Car
clubs extend the transport options available to you
by giving you access to a car when you need one for trips including
shopping, leisure, business journeys and night travel.
They save you from having to own your own vehicle and meet the
associated costs of running a car - such as capital costs,
depreciation, insurance, tax and maintenance.
The car club scheme offers you the convenience of being able to use
a clean, modern and reliable vehicle for those trips you cannot do
by using public transport, cycling or walking.
Car clubs also play a role in supporting London Mayoral targets
across a number of key strategy areas:

particularly in new low-car housing developments.

providing accessibility to key services and facilities without the
related costs of car ownership.

The Car Club operator in Redbridge is currently Streetcar, the
largest car club operator in the United Kingdom. By joining
Streetcar you will have access to the vehicles located in our
borough and any of the other 1000 Streetcar car club vehicles

How does it work?
Car Club offers members “pay as you go” driving. The car is
booked either on-line or over the phone and is picked up and
returned to the same on-street bay by the member. The car is booked
for the period of time required by the member. The cars are
available 24 hours a day for rent by the hour, day, week or
month.
Prices
It costs just £59.50 to join Streetcar for one year.
Prices start from £6.25 for one hour and you get 20 miles of free
fuel per day.
