Diamond Jubilee 2012 - Street parties
Redbridge Council is making it as easy as possible for residents
to close roads for street parties to celebrate the Diamond
Jubilee over the long weekend of the 2 to 5 of June 2012
and will not pass on any costs for road closures.
Apply now
Please take note: Street parties for the
Diamond Jubilee must be submitted to us by 20 April
2012. Unfortunately we will not be able to accept
any applications received after this date.
About the application process
We will begin to process any applications in January 2012, if
you are interested in having a street party and would like to speak
to us about it, then please contact Shelley Bamrah on the details
in the contact
section above.
Road closure for residential or neighbourhood street
parties
We will consult with the emergency services
and any other organisations to make sure that there are no serious
objections.
Please bear in mind that closing major traffic
routes, bus routes etc, will not really be possible. For further helpful information
residents can visit Streetparty.org.
Area Committee funding for residents holding street parties for
the "Queen's Diamond Jubilee"
Area Committees across Redbridge have set aside funding for
residents associations and community groups etc to hold street
parties or "Big Lunches" to celebrate the Queen's Diamond
Jubilee.
If you are planning such an event and need funding to hire
trestle tables, bunting, tableware etc, your Area Committee may be
able to fund such items for you. Funding applications forms are available on our Area
Committees page or from Antoinette Davis on 020 8708 2352
or email antoinette.davis@redbridge.gov.uk.
