Press release number: PR1807
Residents
across Redbridge have until 12 July to act to be in with a chance
of winning a £25,000 prize.
Pay your council tax bill by Direct Debit
All they need to do to be entered into this life changing prize
draw is sign up to pay their council tax bill by Direct Debit
before 5pm on Thursday 12 July 2012.
The council tax prize draw promotion is being run by 17 London
local authorities and Bacs Payment Schemes Ltd (Bacs), the
not-for-profit organisation behind Direct Debit.
Councillor Ian Bond, Cabinet member for
Resources said,
“Direct Debit is a much cheaper way for
us to process payments and the money we save can be used for the
benefit of local residents. Switching also helps residents to
budget and we’re encouraging as many people as possible to switch
to Direct Debit and be in with the chance of winning the £25,000
prize."
How to enter
To enter Redbridge residents must register to pay their council
tax bill by Direct Debit before 5pm on Thursday 12 July 2012. They
can simply sign up to Direct Debit on
Redbridge i at or set one up over the phone by calling 020 8708
5670 or return a completed paper Direct Debit Instruction to
Redbridge Council.
Residents who already pay their council tax bill by Direct Debit
will be entered into the prize draw automatically.
Last year’s £25,000 prize was won by a Southwark resident, while
in 2010 the winner lived in Haringey. This year’s winner will be
drawn on Tuesday 17 July 2012.
