Free books, CDs and clothes could all be up for grabs during a
series of Give and Take Days across the Borough.
Residents can get their hands on all kinds of free goods at the
events which encourage people to drop off items they don’t need and
pick up ones they want.
The events are being held to celebrate Recycle Week
Recycle Week takes place from 16 to 24 June.
The Give and Take days take place in the following places:
- Ilford Islamic Centre, 52-58 Albert Road, Ilford, IG1 1HW, 16
June, 11am to 3.30pm.
- Valentines Mansion and Gardens Emerson Road, Ilford,
Essex, IG1 4XA, 17 June, 11am to 3.30pm.
- Gants Hill United Reformed Church, 39 Woodford Avenue, Gants
Hill, IG2 6UH, 21 June, 11am to 3.30pm.
- Orchard Estate, 152 Broadmead Road, Woodford Green, IG5 0AG, 23
June, 12pm to 4.30pm.
- Prince of Wales pub, 63 Green Lane, Ilford, IG1 1XJ (car park)
24 June, 1.30am to 4pm.
Residents who are dropping off items they
no longer need are asked to make sure they are in a safe and
working condition.
The types of things you can donate are:
- Books
- CDs
- DVDs
- Sports wear
- Bric-a-brac
- Clean clothes
- Kitchenware
- Homeware
- Toys and Games
- Unfortunately we are unable to accept any
electrical items.
Where to drop off donations
If you can’t make it to an event but still want
to get rid of things you don’t need then you can drop off your
donations to three different places in the Borough:
St Francis of Assisi, 144
Fencepiece Road, Hainault, IG6 2LA. Monday to Friday, 10am to
2pm from 28 May. Please call 020 8133 2033 before dropping off
items
Gants Hill United Reformed Church, 39 Woodford
Avenue, Gants Hill, IG2 6UH. Monday to Wednesday, 10 am to 4
pm from 4th June. Please call 020 8551 8178 before dropping
off items.
Ilford Islamic Centre (Office- opposite
Mosque), 52-58 Albert Road, Ilford, IG1 1HW. 12.00 pm to 4 pm from
13 to 16 June
