20 July 2012

Press release number: PR1856

Residents are being advised that due to the expected heavy traffic during the London 2012 Olympic Games refuse and recycling collections will start earlier.Rubbish Collection truck

Letters are going out across the Borough informing residents that as of Monday 30 July refuse and recycling will be collected on the normal collection day but needs to be put out for collection by 6am during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Alterations

These alterations are being made to ensure that collections can be completed on resident’s regular collection day.  The Council will return to its normal patterns and times from Monday 10 September.

Commercial Waste collections will remain the same.

Secure your rubbish

Residents are also asked to try to ensure that rubbish is stored securely in a bin to prevent it being attacked by animals and spilling out into gardens and roads.
