Free computer access and WiFi
We have computers for public use in all our libraries. You can
book up to two hours a day for word processing,
spreadsheets, Internet searching, e-mail, scanning and
printing. It is free to use the computers and you will only be
charged for the cost of any printing you do.
You can also enjoy free wireless internet access, WiFi, at
all Redbridge libraries (except Aldersbrook and Clayhall
libraries). You can log on from anywhere in the library on your own
laptop or mobile device. There is no need to book, and you can use
the internet for as long as you like.
Children's library computers
The children's libraries have computers dedicated for their
use. We have special firewalls installed for your child's
safety and protection online. Children under 14 can book for up to
one hour a day.
Please contact your local branch for details.
Redbridge Libraries have installed a new booking system, and you
can book a computer session from home (or while you are logged in
at the library). You will need your library barcode number (your
library card number) and your
PIN
number
, available from any Redbridge library.
WiFi - How to get online
To start browsing the internet using our WiFi you need to
connect to the library network called 'Redbridge Library
Services'. Once connected launch your web browser and you will
be taken to the Library WiFi Login page. If you have not
used the service before you will need to register.
Registration
For full internet access you need to have an account with
RegenerateIT. To create a new account simply register your details
on the Library WiFi Login page using the Free Registration
link.
Once registered, your username and password will work on the
WiFi in any Redbridge Library.
Web filtering
Please note some sites will be blocked as we use a web filtering
technology which blocks websites which can be harmful and
offensive.
Power points
Use of power points in the library is at the discretion of
library staff. If you plug your laptop into a power point where
this causes an obstruction to other customers or staff, you will be
asked to remove it.
