Loans
Every term each class teacher has access to the following
loans:
Topic Loan
30 books plus supporting posters, pictures, videos, CD-ROMs and
a variety of project packs.
Fiction Loan
30 books and story CDs. The fiction books comprise
picture books, big books, touchy-feely books, dual language books,
easy readers, short stories, stories from around the world, new
fiction and teenage fiction.
Guided Reading Loan
Six sets of six books including fiction, non-fiction
poetry and plays.
Story Sack
One sack containing a story book, plus a selection of
supporting toys, puppets, games and artefacts.

Loan applications can now also be made online. Please
select the relevant loan below:
Delivery and collection
Whether loans are selected by our staff or personally chosen,
these are delivered directly to school in a strong blue storage
box.
- Delivery to a central school point for internal
distribution.
- Check the contents carefully against the print out.
- Contact us immediately if you have any queries or
discrepancies.
- Blue boxes may be used for storage in the classroom.
Towards the end of term, it is the responsibility of the
individual teacher to locate and check off loans against their
printout.
- return only SLS resources in the blue box
- return blue boxes to central school point
- arrange collection date with SLS.
Losses and Overdue Charges
All loans are to be returned at the end of every term, unless
specifically renewed. A loss factor is allocated for each
loan. Two reminders are sent to individual teachers and
losses are invoiced every two terms in arrears - to allow teachers
time to search thoroughly. All videos and CD-ROMs will be
charged for, as will any item missing from a story sack.
