Overdue items and fees changes

From 1 April 2012, Redbridge Libraries will begin a trial where large fines or very overdue items will be followed up by a company to recover them and encourage people to bring them back. An extra £10 fines will also be added to the amount already owned by the reader.

From 1 May 2012 some of our library fees changed. Please check the information below for fees and fines. 

Some services in Redbridge libraries have a small cost. The borrowing of books is free. The fees and fines are the same in all Redbridge libraries.image of coins

Fees

DVDs / Videos loans and overdue charges

* For each loan period a DVD is kept overdue a further loan charge will be made.

** There are no charges for audio book sets loans to disabled Redbridge residents.

Overdue and lost items charges

Borrowing books is free in Redbridge libraries, however you will have to pay overdue fees if they are returned late.

Any items returned late, lost or damaged will have a fine. Items overdue for more than 36 days will incur a Late Adminstration Fee of £10. Some other library services also have fees.
