Active4Life
Active4Life is an initiative to provide
information about physical activity and to encourage making it a
part of your daily life.
It evolved from the
national Change4Life
programme to encourage people to develop a healthier lifestyle.
Let us help you 'strive for five' - by engaging in some
form of physical activity five times a week for just 30
minutes each day.
It
might just be a walk to the bus stop, but it all counts.
If you are looking for something specific to do take a look at the Get Active
London website.
Let us help you to act and think more
active.
Here are some of the activities that you or
your children can get involved with all year round:
-
Active Young People - Pay as you go weekly activity
sessions for 5-18 year olds ranging from basketball,
cheerleading, volleyball and much more. We also do Saturday morning
football for 5-11 years in the summer months.
- Community Fit Club - A weight
management programme that gives you control and includes 2 free
exercise classes a week! Meets at Redbridge Sports &
Leisure Centre on Saturday mornings 9am to
10am.
-
Fit for Fun - This is aimed at Faith groups, Mother’s
groups, in fact any type of community group that wishes to get more
active!
- Golden Years Project - Various
activities and events to get the older generation involved in
sport and physical activity.
- Healthy Lifestyles Programme - Pay as you go weekly
activity sessions including yoga, line dancing, keep fit,
badminton, short mat bowls and much more.
- MEND - Mind,
Exercise, Nutrition and Do it! Weight management
programme for 7-13 year olds plus their parents/carers with
the emphasis on fun.
- Sports Club
Directory - Let us help you find a sports club to join or
your nearest leisure facility or physical activity session.
- Sport in parks - A free programme of
activities in parks throughout the borough.
- Us Girls - Sports and leisure
activities for women only, however those who are aged 16-25
years get some extra benefits!
- Walk to Health - A free
organised walks programme at parks within Redbridge.
Also
there are things you do everyday which can count as a form of
exercise including housework, gardening, walking (anywhere!), using
the stairs instead of lifts or escalators or going to the park with
your children.
Let us help you top up your daily activities...
