Home Hainault Forest Country Park

This summer, Hainault Forest Country Park will be hosting temporary accommodation called Snoozebox to house security staff to protect London during the Olympics and Paralympics 2012.

In order to do this, there will be some changes to the Country Park and areas which will be inaccessible to our park users from 1 June to 1 October 2012.

Facilities and attractions

  • Adventure play areas
  • Bridleways
  • Café - The Café is open from 9.30am-6pm weather permitting.
  • Events diary - There are no events after the farm feeding tour on 6 June 2012. Donkey rides
  • Farm/zoo - Opening hours 9.30am-5pm (free of charge). There will be Donkey rides every Wednesday during 6 week holidays costing £2.50 per person. 
  • Field Access - The very first field on your left as you enter the park and the field opposite the farm will be fenced off and not accessible.
  • Fishing lake - The season is closed season until 16 June 2012, then open and free of charge to fish on the north bank only during park opening hours. Night fishing is not permitted. 
  • Guided walks
  • Nature trail 
  • Picnic area
  • Toilets - The only block that is open, is adjacent the cafe and is open from 8am-5.30pm.
  • Visitor Centre

Car Parking 

The first car park, opposite the café, will be closed. The second car park will be open but limited to 176 spaces.   There are two parking charges, £1 for the first hour or £3 all day. There are 3 coach parking spaces only. There is 1 parking space by the Country Park offices and 2 parking spaces by the mini roundabout inside the park. All are signposted. Parking is free of charge to Blue badge holders.

Opening hours 

The Country Park is open from 7am to dusk 7 days per week. 

Byelaws Consultation

The Council are currently consulting over the adoption of Byelaws for Hainault Forest Country Park.

Other park information

Hainault Forest Country Park celebrated 100 years of being made into an 'open space' in 2006.  It has also won the Green Flag Award three times - 2006/07, 2009/10 and 2010/11!

There are also two top-class golf courses next door at Hainault Forest Golf Course.
