Disability Sessions and Events
All of the following activities and events give disabled people
the opportunity to take part in a sport and physical activity of
their choice and at a level they want to participate
in.
The Inter Day Centre New Age Kurling Competition and the Inter
Day Centre Boccia Competition
include participants from Day Centres and disabled groups from
Redbridge and other boroughs.
The North East London Schools Disability Swimming Gala
is for young disabled people under 17 years of age.
The Inter-Borough Disability Swimming Championships
is open to both young people and adults from any London borough.
Each participating borough has a squad made up of local school
students, day centres and local swimming clubs.
The Inter-Borough Athletics Championships
This is an event for young people U19 who have a physical
impairment and a moderate learning difficulty. The events are held
at Waltham Forest Pool and Track, with boroughs represented by
their local schools.
London Youth Games Disability Squads
Each year Redbridge take part in the London Youth Games but what
a lot of people may not be aware of is that we also have disability
squads in each of the following sports - Swimming, Boccia, Mini
Boccia, Athletics, Girls Football and Boys Football. We work with
our local schools and clubs in order to develop squads for each
sport.
