This year’s Open House London celebrates the 20th anniversary of
showcasing all that is good about the Capital’s buildings, places
and neighbourhoods.
It is a unique opportunity to explore London’s amazing
architecture and design. More than 750 buildings will open their
doors, alongside a programme of neighbourhood walks, engineering
and landscape tours, night time openings, and experts’ talks – all
for free.
Highlights in Redbridge include:
- the Grade I listed St Mary’s Church, Wanstead
- the Hospital Chapel of St Mary & St Thomas, Ilford
- the Sukkat Shalom Reform Synagogue, Wanstead
Buildings participating this year for the first time
include:
- Barnardo’s Garden Village, Barkingside (pictured)
- the recently refurbished Ilford Central Library, Ilford

This year’s theme, ‘The Changing Face of London’, explores
issues that are relevant to local communities and how the built
environment is evolving – including the design of homes, the impact
of climate change, and the role of
design in making London a more liveable, vibrant and enjoyable
city.
