Empty properties
If you own or know of an empty property in Redbridge then please
report
it to us. We may also be able to help in
bringing it back to use.
If you do know of any property please contact us at empty.homes@redbridge.gov.uk.
What happens next?
The Empty Properties Officer will investigate the reasons why
the property is empty and, where possible, contact the owner to
agree a course of action for returning it to use.
In some circumstances where the owner refuses to act responsibly
in relation to bringing the property into use, the council will
consider enforcement action.
Where an empty property owner is keen to sell their property,
there may be a local Registered Provider (formerly known
as housing associations) willing to purchase if the price
can be agreed. If you are interested in this option please
indicate by completing the Empty Property Form below.
Empty Homes Agency
The Empty Homes Agency
is an independent campaigning charity, which exists to highlight
the waste of empty property in England and works with others to
devise and promote sustainable solutions to bring empty property
back into use.
Report an empty property or a property with squatters.
