In Redbridge there are a number of agencies and accommodation
providers offering advice, support and shelter to help rough
sleepers get off the street.
The Winter Shelter for Rough Sleepers is now open from 3rd
December 2015 – 5th March 2016. The Winter Shelter is based at the
Salvation Army at 15 Clements Road, Ilford, IG1 1BH. To access the
shelter you need to be referred by the Welcome Centre or by
Streetlink. The Welcome Centre is based at 2-6 St. Mary’s Road,
Ilford, Essex IG1 1QX, on the corner with Green Lane.
The Council has a responsibility to ensure that rough sleepers
have access to shelter during periods of severe cold weather. These
periods are defined as when the temperature is forecast to fall to
zero degrees centigrade or lower for three or more days. Please
check back on this page for an update on opening times and location
for the cold weather shelter.
