Bid or search for a property
Once you have registered you can now apply (bid) for a
property. Which property you can apply for will depend on the
number of bedrooms you are entitled to and your category code which
will be shown by the property in the magazine or online.
Where can I look at available properties?
Important: If you don't see any
properties in your category this means that there are no available
properties in your category that week so please try the following
week. Please note that you will not be able to view
properties without being registered.
How to bid for a property (Choice based
lettings)
Once you have found a property that you would like to apply for
you will need to express an interest by bidding for the
property. To bid you can:
- phone the ELLC Choice Homes bidding hotline on 0845 650
4125
- bid
online
- bid by text on 0778 148 6526
Have the following information for when you bid
In order to bid, you will need the following information:
- Your registration number (from your introductory letter)
- Date of birth
- Reference number of the property (from the advert)
Guide to bidding
- Bidding opens on a property from Friday morning until Monday
midnight. Please note that both the magazine and the website
will have the new properties available on the Friday morning.
- There is no limit to the amount of properties that you can bid
for. However, you can bid for up to two properties a
week
- You should only bid for properties that you are serious
about.
What happens I bid
- The Council's allocations team will offer the applicant(s)
deemed to have waited the longest time and have the highest
priority. Bidding early does not make you successful (eg
bidding first thing Friday morning).
- If you are successful we will send you a letter containing
details about what happens next
- Please note that we do not contact you if you have not been
successful, however you will know that you have not been successful
because the property will no longer be available for bidding.
How long till I move in?
This will be agreed with either Redbridge Homes or the relevant
Housing Association who own the property.
Payment details
This is a free service. However you will have to pay:
- rent -which will be organised by Redbridge Homes or the Housing
Association
- council tax
- household bills
