Affordable housing and Shared Ownership
The organisation that deals with all Shared Ownership
enquiries in Redbridge is the registered
provider Metropolitan Housing
Trust (MHT), and is referred to as the North London Zone
Agent. (Registered Providers were formally known as housing
associations).
Shared Ownership is also known as part buy, part rent.
Apply for a Shared Ownership home
Shared Ownership allows people to own a share of the property
and rent the unowned part. For example you may have a
mortgage on 20% of the property and you pay rent on the other 80%
of the property. When your circumstances allow you can
increase your share of the property that you own.
Visit MHT's website to start
the process.
Apply for an affordable home
If you would like the benefits of living in a new home
without owning it, then you may be entitled to apply
for one. To do this you will need to apply through
the Choice Based Lettings
Scheme.
