Help for elderly, disabled and vulnerable
Depending on your situation there are different housing options
available
to you. Please check the information below to see
which applies. If you're unsure then please contact the
Housing Advice Centre.
Home owners and private tenants who wish to remain in their
home
Should you wish to remain in your current accommodation the
following services can provide help and support to do so.
Council tenants and Housing Association tenants who wish to
remain in their home
You will need to contact Redbridge Homes for Council
tenants or your Housing Association for
Housing Association tenants.
People who wish to move from their home (over 55s)
If you would like to live independently but
still have the security and support when needed then you may be
eligible for Sheltered Housing.
If you would like full time 24 hour support as
you cannot manage living independently then you can apply for
'extra care'.
If you have a disability, feel vulnerable or just want to
move into a council property then you can through our
Choice Based Lettings Scheme.
People who wish to move from their home (under 55s)
If you have a disability, suffer from mental
health or feel vulnerable then we may be able to help
you. Please contact the Housing Advice

What is vulnerability?
People who need help due to old age, illness or physical
disability, such as:
- hearing or visual impairment
- someone with learning disabilities
- mental health
