Redbridge Council is looking for good quality housing to use as temporary accommodation for local people through the Private Sector Leasing Scheme.

The scheme provides:

  • Guaranteed rents
  • A three year lease with one of the Council’s private sector or Housing  Association partners
  • Peace of mind with professional and experienced property management.

Redbridge has very limited social housing stock, therefore over the years Photo of a block of flatsthe council has developed good relationships with private landlords and managing agents.

Contrary to popular belief many landlords will now accept tenants on low income, benefits and with children.

Housing Benefit

  • People who want a choice of where they wish to live

Safety tips

  • Never view flats by yourself. Be safe and take a friend
  • Do not part with any money unless you are sure you are dealing with the landlord or agent for the property and they are entitled to let the property
  • Always get a receipt
  • Wherever possible get agreements confirmed in writing.
