Housing waiting times
Due to the limited amount of stock in the borough the waiting
time for a council or housing association property is very
long. Redbridge has the least amount of stock out of all the
London boroughs with the highest number of applicants on its
waiting list.
Waiting list
There are currently 9,861 (as at April
2011) applicants on the choice homes waiting list, 4,591
of these applicants have a preference (high priority). There
are 6,161 applicants waiting for "Family Sized" (two
bedroom or larger) properties.
How many properties are in the Borough of Redbridge?
The London Borough of Redbridge own 4,693 units of social
housing made up as follows:
- Studio/bedsit - 471
- 1 bed - 1,426
- 2 bed - 1,417
- 3 bed - 1,290
- 4 bed - 85
- 5 bed - 4
The housing associations own 5,319 units in Redbridge. Over 50%
of these units are studios and 1 bedroom accommodation
