Local land charges service carries out two types of search 'full local pen with ink authority' search and 'personal search' of the local land charges register.

Full Local Authority search

If you would like a full search then we will need the following documents from you which you can either obtain from any high street solicitor or OYEZ law stationers. If you would like any additional information which is known as the CON29O this will cost extra. All you need to provide us is a copy of the title plan of your property which you need to get from the Land Registry.

LLC 1 (either a land charges certificate or the equivalent print out).
Con29R (2007 edition). 'Enquiries of the local authority'

How much is the Full Local Authority search?

The search costs £140 and takes one to three working days

Get a full Local Authority search underway

You will need to send the above forms to us along with a cheque for £140 made payable to LB Redbridge. You can do this by:

Handing it into reception of the Town Hall
Post it to Local Land Charges, 3rd Floor, Town Hall, 129-142 High Road, Ilford, Essex, IG1 1DD

Once we have received your documents we will take one to three working days to complete the search and then we will post it back to the applicant.

About the personal search

A personal search is a search of the local land charges register only. The local land charges service is supported by the following service areas:

Planning
Highways and Engineering
Community Safety
Building Control

The searches can help identify such things as common land and village greens which may affect your property.

If you require further information to complete your CON29R form then you can either visit the One Stop Shop or you can contact the departments direct.

You can come to the Local Land Charges Office (by appointment only) and pick up a print out of your personal search.

You will then need to get information for the Con29R by contacting the relevant departments or visiting the Council's one stop shop. Additional fees will be applicable and it will take as long as it takes you to compile the information together.
