There are a number of ways you can pay your Council Tax. You can choose which payment method is appropriate for you.  

How often can payment be made?

  • in one instalment on 4 April
  • in two instalments on 4 April and 20 September
  • Or Council Tax payers can now choose to pay by 12 instalments.

Pay the April instalment and let us know so we can update your account and divide the remaining amount over 11 months. Otherwise you will continue to receive 10 instalments which generally means no payments are due in February and March.

Direct Debit

You can pay by Direct Debit using one of the methods below

Via your bank

Quote sort code 57-96-51 and a/c number 00000000. Quote your Council Tax Reference. Our account number is eight zeros - 00000000 so please ensure you put this (however odd it may seem).

By Phone

Please phone 020 8708 4708 to pay by credit/debit card. The line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We accept payments from Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Visa Debit, Electron and Solo cards.

Please have ready your reference number, your credit card and the amount you need to pay.

There will be an administration charge of 1.5% on credit card payments to cover our processing costs. There is no charge for debit card payments.

In person

The Council's Cash Office in Clements Road has now closed.

Customers from the 1 April 2013 will be able to pay their Council bills in more than 40 Post Offices and 200 local shops across Redbridge.

Go to the Post Office branch finder and enter your town or postcode. Maximum payment on a single transaction £999.99

Paypoint Logo

 

Payment type accepted: Cash Only
Go to PayPoint locator and enter your town or postcode. Maximum payment on a single transaction £200.00

Payzone Logo

Payment type accepted: Cash Only
Go to the payzone locator and select Utility and Bill Payments and enter your full postcode.
Maximum payment on a single transaction £999.99.

Post

Send your payment along with the payment slip (attached to your bill) to: Chief Payments, Benefits and Customer Services Officer at 22-26 Clements Road, Ilford, Essex, IG1 1BD.

Please pay at least four working days early to ensure we receive your payment on time.
