The tenancy sustainment team act upon
referrals for clients that are already known to the housing
department. These are for single applicants and families with
social, welfare and health issues, those who have not held a
tenancy before, or anyone who is deemed to be particularly
Provide support to people moving from
temporary accommodation into leased or private rented
accommodation. Carry out resettlement work for clients moving
into sheltered accommodation.
Assist the client with budgeting, setting up
utilities, applying for Social Fund payments, and ensure that the
client is receiving the maximum benefits. Refer the applicant
to appropriate agencies dependent on the needs, and ensure that the
clients are aware of all the services available.
Attend tribunals with clients, deal with
anti-social behaviour and ensure that the client maintains their
tenancy and avoid homelessness.
