Home Equality and diversity scheme and action plans

This scheme provides an important framework for Redbridge when dealing group of peoplewith borough-wide inequality.

It drives function and policy and clearly signposts routes for complaints procedures.

This ensures that all those who work and live in the Borough are aware of their equality rights and the level of service that they should expect from their local authority.

What is the Equality Framework for Local Government (EFLG)?

The Equality Framework for Local Government (EFLG) is a performance improvement and benchmarking tool. It builds on and develops the work councils have done on the Equality Standard for Local Government. This is a tool that enables local authorities to mainstream equality across areas such as:

  • gender
  • race
  • religion and/or belief
  • disability
  • sexual orientation
  • age

The EFLG was developed by the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA).  For more information go to the IDeA website
