Admissions consultation 2014 - Now complete

Redbridge has consulted on issues to do with school admissions.


Consultation to expand Beal High School - Now complete

The consultation to expand Beal High School started on Friday 17 June 2011 and closed on Friday 15 July 2011.

Those interested were asked for their views on the proposal to expand Beal High School from eight forms of entry 8FE) to twelve forms of entry (12FE), to provide 120 additional places per year group beginning with Year 7 in September 2013.

Consultation on Primary School Expansions - Now complete

The Council created additional permanent primary school places for September 2012, by expanding existing primary schools.

Consultation to permanently expand Christchurch Primary School, Grove Primary School, Mayespark Primary School and Mossford Green Primary School started on Friday 17 June 2011 and closed on Friday 15 July 2011

Responses and representation period

Those interested were asked for their views on the proposal to expand the premises of Christchurch Primary School, Grove Primary School, Mayespark Primary School and Mossford Green Primary School to create an additional 120 primary places, beginning with the Reception intake in September 2012.

Responses received to the consultation have been considered by the Council’s Cabinet. A report was submitted to the Council's Cabinet on 4 October 2011 summarising the responses.

The representation period for further comments and views on the proposals for the expansion of Christchurch Primary School, Grove Primary School and Mayespark Primary School closed on 10 November 2011. 

The representation period for further comments and views on the proposals for Mossford Green Primary School closed on 19 January 2012.

Proposals for Grove, Christchurch and Mayespark

Proposal for Grove Primary School was determined by the Director of Children’s Services and the Lead Member for Children’s Services on 1 December 2011. The determination approved the expansion of Grove Primary School to accommodate 3 forms of entry from September 2012.

Proposal for the expansion of Christchurch Primary School and the expansion of Mayespark Primary School was determined by Cabinet on 10 January 2012.

Proposal for the expansion of Mossford Green Primary School was determined by the Director of Children’s Services and the Lead Member for Children’s Services on 24 January 2012.


Consultation on admissions - The Isaac Newton Academy - Now complete 

This new academy will open in September 2012 on the Cricklefields site between Ilford High Road and Green Lane.

Competition for a new primary school - Now complete

The bid to run a school on the Ilford Jewish Primary School (IJPS) site in Carlton Drive, Barkingside, 

was won by the I-Foundation. The decision was announced by the independent Office of the Schools Adjudicator.

The Council invited proposals for a new primary school on the Ilford Jewish Primary School site on 12 August 2010. 

Three proposals were received for a new primary school by the closing date of 13 December 2010. The public notice summarising these was published in the ‘Ilford Recorder’ on Thursday 23 December 2010 and on the Redbridge website.

The publication of the notice commenced a six week representation period from 23 December 2010 to 5 pm 3 February 2011, inviting comments and views on the proposals. The representation period has now ended and all representations received will be sent to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator who will decide the outcome of the competition.

As the London Borough of Redbridge has submitted a proposal for the new primary school, the decision is being made by the Office of the Schools Adjudicator. The new primary school is subject to the Council acquiring the Ilford Jewish Primary School Site.

School admission consultation - Now complete

Consultation has taken place on admission arrangements for Redbridge schools for the academic year 2014/15.

Those interested in admissions were asked for their views on a number of school admission arrangements. Comments have been considered and arrangements now determined.

Consultation to expand Loxford School of Science and Technology - Now complete

Consultation to expand Loxford School of Science and Technology started on Monday 1 November 2010 and finished on Monday 13 December 2010.

Those interested were asked for their views on the proposal to expand Loxford School of Science and Technology to cater for pupils from the age of three years to nineteen.

The representation period to make your views and comments known has now closed on Thursday 3 March 2011 at 5pm.

Consultation on the Protocol for the recovering of funding from schools that permanently exclude and charging schools for other Pupil Referral Unit Placements - Now complete

Between 20 October 2010 and 22 November 2010 a consultation exercise was held on the Protocol for the recovering of funding from schools that permanently exclude and charging schools for other Pupil Referral Unit Placements.

The consultation paper was circulated widely to all head teachers of primary and secondary schools, the head teacher of the academy and Chairs of Governors. On 8 December 2010 the Schools Forum considered all the comments received from the consultation and agreed the protocol.

Consultation on Revised Home to School Transport Policy - Now complete

Consultation on the new Home to School Transport Policy for Redbridge took place between 23 November 2010 and 18 January 2011.

Parents, schools and others interested were asked for their views on the amended policy.

The Children’s Trust will now consider all comments received.
