The date of the main test was Saturday 13 September 2014. The deadline to register your child for the Redbridge 11 plus selection test for Ilford County High School for boys or Woodford County High School for girls has now passed and registration has closed. The deadline was 5 pm on Monday 30 June 2014.

No late registrations will be accepted for 2015 except for those who previously lived outside of the common catchment area (CCA) but move into the CCA for these two schools.

Redbridge 11 plus selection test: school admission in September 2015

From September 2014, Redbridge has made changes to the 11 plus examination process. This will affect children who are applying for a place at one of the two grammar schools to start in September 2015 or subsequent years.

The tests will usually be held at Woodford County High School and at Ilford County High School. Further details on the arrangements will be published on this website in due course.

The examination board from September 2014 will be CEM, University of Durham, which assesses pupils’ understanding and application of knowledge and skills taught in the Key Stage 2 curriculum. CEM produces a familiarisation booklet to inform parents and candidates about its 11 plus selective assessment test which is available on our website (see below).

The booklet includes examples to indicate the range of skills required to complete the assessment and the manner in which questions are answered. This familiarisation booklet is NOT definitive and the inclusion of any question types does not guarantee that they will be found in the final assessment. Please view the 11 plus entrance test familiarisation booklet (PDF 1.03MB)

The changes have been discussed with the respective schools and they are in support of them.

The new arrangements:

  • will ensure that already high standards are maintained
  • will widen accessibility and equality for children and
  • provide better value for money.
