School open evenings and information

There is one open evening at the grammar schools to give you and your child the chance to look at the school, listen to the head teachers speech and find out more about being a student there:

Travel arrangements and parking: open evenings and test day

On Saturday 10 September 2016 for both grammar schools there will be no parking facilities on site except for those displaying a disabled badge. Please use public transport but if driving be respectful of the residents around the schools. Please make suitable travel arrangements to avoid parking issues on the day.

Where will the test be held?

The test will be held at Woodford County High School (girls) and at Ilford County High School (boys).

The examination board is CEM, University of Durham, which assesses pupils’ understanding and application of knowledge and skills taught in the Key Stage 2 curriculum. CEM produces a familiarisation booklet to inform parents and candidates about its 11 plus selective assessment test.

The booklet includes examples to indicate the range of skills required to complete the assessment and the manner in which questions are answered. This familiarisation booklet is not definitive and the inclusion of any question types does not guarantee that they will be found in the final assessment. Please view the 11 plus entrance test familiarisation booklet 2017(PDF 1.31MB).
