Teenage pregnancy
The Teenage Pregnancy Strategy in Redbridge aims to reduce the
number of under-18 conceptions and to support young parents through
education, employment and training.
We aim to reduce the teenage pregnancy rate by ensuring young
people:
- receive the information, advice and support they need – from
parents, teachers and other professionals – to deal with pressure
to have sex; enjoy positive and caring relationships; and
experience good sexual health
- know how to use contraception effectively when they do reach
the stage that they become sexually active, and know where to
access services, so they can avoid unplanned pregnancies and
sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
For information on teenage health services including:
- free condoms
- Emergency Hormonal Contraception (morning after pill),
- “R U Ready?” (thinking about sex for the first time)
- contraception and pregnancy testing
Please visit the
Young People Friendly website.
