Buy with confidence scheme
The Buy With Confidence scheme (BWC)
The Buy With Confidence scheme is already popular with
businesses and consumers across the South of England.
Redbridge Council, along with its partners in the Town Centre
Alliance, has decided that the time is right to bring the
same benefits to its local residents and town centre
shoppers.
Shops that pass the checks carried out by Trading Standards
Officers will be able to use the BWC logo in local
advertising and on shop windows. Their name will also be added to
the searchable Buy With Confidence website.
Residents and visitors to Ilford's town
centre will be able to take advantage of a new free
scheme highlighting which local retailers have signed up to buy
with confidence. A Buy with confidence business has the
advantage of becoming recognised as a responsible business
that has been vetted by the council's trading standards
team.
Apply to join the scheme

Disclaimer
Businesses participating in the Buy With Confidence scheme have
been vetted for compliance with trading standards legislation prior
to joining the scheme. However, this does not mean
that Redbridge Council guarantees the quality of any goods or
services provided by each business. In
addition, Redbridge Council cannot be held liable for any
failure of any goods or services provided by each business in
any way.
Redbridge Council does not accept liability for
any Buy With Confidence member business that breaks the
terms and conditions of the scheme -- however this should this
occur. The mediation scheme is not legally binding on either party
and does not affect any right to seek redress in a court of
law.

Warning: Avoid trader scheme scams.
Please be aware of a rogue trader scheme that pretends to be
connected with the Buy With Confidence scheme.
Recently, some businesses in the area have been contacted by
organisations pretending to be part of BWC. In many cases, they
have tried to sell advertising for a magazine that doesn't in fact
exist.
Please do not engage with any of these 'cold callers' and do not
give them your card details. We do not support any such
activity and any claims about any association with Buy With
Confidence or the emergency services is untrue. If you come
across such a trader, please let us know immediately.
