Under the Gambling Act 2005 the Council will become responsible for issuing a number of premises licences

There are also unlicensed family entertainment centres where only category D machines may be provided and a Family Entertainment Centre Gaming Machine Permit can be appled for.

Temporary permissions

Under the Gambling Act 2005 the Council will become responsible for two types of temporary permission

  • Temporary Use Notices
  • Occasional use Notices

The Council is currently reviewing the Regulations issued by the Department for Culture Media and Sport and further information on these notices and What you need to do to serve them will be provided shortly.

Advertising applications (Gambling Act 2005)

You must advertise an application under the Gambling Act 2005 if you are applying for:

  • A new premises licence
  • To vary a licence
  • A provisional statement

To advertise you must place posters on the premises and an advert in a local newspaper with specific content
