Fire risk assesment
The Regulatory
Reform Fire Safety Order 2005 places the onus on individuals
within an organisation to carry out risk assessments to identify,
manage and reduce the risk of fire. Where the Order applies to your
premises you must carry out a Fire Risk Assessment and Emergency
Plan and where necessary record the significant findings. An audit
may be carried out by an Officer of the London Fire Brigade in the
near future to inspect the assessment so it must be available at
all times.
The London Fire Brigade has prepared guidance on how
to carry out a fire risk
assessment with a method of how to record your significant
findings and an emergency plan. Alternatively you can view the
guidance on the Communities and Local Government website. A
Guidance note can be viewed and printed that may assist you.
Will tacit consent apply?
Yes - for the following applications made online and is
unopposed at the end of the consultation period. This means that
you will be able to act as though your application is granted if
you have not heard from the local authority by the end of the
target completion period

If an application for a licence is refused the failed applicant
can appeal. Appeals are made to a Magistrates' court within
21 days of notice of the decision.
