If you have drawn up a good business plan, it should detail: the key business functions that you need to get up and running and those members of staff who are responsible for implementing what can be termed a crisis action plan.  There are five basic planks that need to be in place to ensure a good response.

  • React within the first hour
  • Ensure your employees use their training
  • Circulate key contact details and preferred service providers
  • Ensure that your nominated Press and PR person is in place within the first hour
  • Distribute hard copies of your Business Continuity Plan to all members of staff
