Child protection and safeguarding
What does protecting and safeguarding of children mean?
Keeping children safe in Redbridge is everybody's
responsibility.
Safeguarding children and young people means protecting them
from abuse or neglect, getting the right support in place as early
as possible and creating an environment in which children and young
people feel safe and healthy.
We all have a personal responsibility to notice when a child or
young person may be being abused and pass our concerns to someone
who can act to protect them.
Do you have concerns about a child's welfare?
If you have concerns about a child's welfare or suspect that a
child is being abused please telephone Redbridge Social
Services on one of the following numbers immediately:
- 020 8708 3885 from 9 am to 5 pm
- 020 8553 5825 after 5 pm.
