Physical or sensory disability
We offer a range of services to those residents who have a
physical or sensory disability and need help to maintain
accommodation and independence.
Help is provided through the following ways:
- identifying your needs
- providing financial advice
- assistance with housing related information
- support on accessing services in the community
Sensory Services Centre
The Sensory Services Centre in Redbridge helps those with a
sensory disability including people who are:
- deaf
- hard of hearing
- blind
- partially sighted
- deafblind
The centre offers, advice and information to people and
their carers, support and training on sensory
loss and equipment and hearing aid maintenance. Services
are provided in partnership with other organisations.
How do I access the service?
If you feel you would benefit from the service, we will
need to carry out an assessment of what your needs
are.
For an assessment, please contact the Community Care Advice Centre.
Do I have to pay?
Currently you do not have to pay for any support provided.
How do I register a disability?
If you have a disability you can register as a disabled
person with the Council. This may help in getting concessions such
as reduced fares for public transport.
To register your disability, contact the Community Care Advice Centre.
