Most of us want to live independently and remain active as possible, but many people need some help and support.

IOccupational therapyf you want to stay at home but are finding it difficult, we can provide a range of services to support your independence.

Alternatively, you can arrange these services for yourself through our self directed support scheme.

How do I get help?

To find out if you can receive any of these services, we need to carry out an assessment of what your needs are and the needs of any family members (carers) who provide care for you.

The services we provide are only available to people who are assessed as needing a service. For an assessment, contact the Community Care Advice Centre.

Lifeline  Pendent that allows you to get help quickly in an emergency at home
Concessionary travel Travel schemes to help you get around more easily
Supporting People service Help to live in your home by providing housing-related support
Extra care sheltered housing Enables you to live independently with 24 hour care and support
Healthy lifestyles programme              A programme of weekly leisure activities

Do I have to pay?

The cost of the service will depend on your personal circumstance and this will be discussed with you once a financial assessment has been carried out.The financial assessment will look at your income and savings and the type of service you need.

We need to ask for financial information so that your contribution is at an amount you can afford to pay.
