HIV and Aids
People affected by HIV and Aids can continue to lead normal
lives and maintain their independence - though sometimes they need
support to do so.
We can provide services and help for people living
with this virus.
Who is the service for?
People living with HIV or Aids and families
and children affected by the virus
How does the service help?
The service can provide:
- access to counselling services
- help in coping with a recent
HIV diagnosis
- help in dealing with bereavement,
loneliness and isolation
- help to handle day-to-day living
- advice on benefits, financial and housing
matters
- assistance to parents in planning
for their children’s future care
- care services including personal/home care,
community meals and equipment and adaptations.
How do I access the service?
If you think that you will benefit from any of
the services provided, we will need to carry out an assessment of
what your needs are. If you are eligible then the team will contact
you to set up the service.
For an assessment please contact the
Community Care Advice Centre.
Do I have to pay?
The cost of the service will depend on your personal
circumstance and this will be discussed with you once a financial
assessment has been carried out.
We need to ask for financial information so that your
contribution is at an amount you can afford to pay.
